چکیده
Chemical investigation of the 50% ethanol eluate fraction from a macroporous resin of flowers of Datura metel L. collected in the Jiangsu Province of China resulted in the isolation of two new withanolides, baimantuoluoline G (1) and baimantuoluoside H (2). Their structures were elucidated as (12β,6β,22R)-1,10-seco-6,12,27-trihydroxy-26-oxo-witha-3,5,24-trienolide-1-oic acid-ε-lactone (1) and (5β,6α,12β,22R)-5,6,12,27-tetra-hydroxy-1,26-dioxo-witha-2,24-dienolide-27-O-β-glucopyranoside (2) on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis (1D, 2D-NMR and HRESIMS) and chemical studies.

متن کاملEffect of the Active Fraction of Flos Daturae on IFN- Induced Apoptosis in Immortalized Human Epidermal Keratinocyte Cells (HaCAT)
The present study is to investigate the effect of the active fraction of Flos Daturae (AF-FD) (dried flower of Datura metel L.) on IFNinduced apoptosis in a human keratinocyte cell line (HaCAT), which is a widely accepted mimic model of psoriasis. Accordingly, we used MTT and LDH to assay cell viability, FCM and Hoechst 33342 staining to assay cell apoptosis, and Western blotting to assay the e...
متن کاملInsights from the molecular docking of withanolide derivatives to the target protein PknG from Mycobacterium tuberculosis
A crucial virulence factor for intracellular Mycobacterium tuberculosis survival is Protein kinase G (PknG), a eukaryotic-like serinethreonine protein kinase expressed by pathogenic mycobacteria that blocks the intracellular degradation of mycobacteria in lysosomes. Inhibition of PknG results in mycobacterial transfer to lysosomes. Withania somnifera, a reputed herb in ayurvedic medicine, compr...

Withania somnifera, a multipurpose medicinal plant is a rich reservoir of pharmaceutically active triterpenoids that are steroidal lactones known as withanolides. Though the plant has been well-characterized in terms of phytochemical profiles as well as pharmaceutical activities, limited attempts have been made to decipher the biosynthetic route and identification of key regulatory genes involv...

Withanolides are a group of pharmacologically active compounds present in most prodigal amounts in roots and leaves of Withania somnifera (Indian ginseng), one of the most important medicinal plants of Indian traditional practice of medicine. Withanolides are steroidal lactones (highly oxygenated C-28 phytochemicals) and have been reported to exhibit immunomodulatory, anticancer and other activ...
